Former Karnataka Ranji Trophy winning captain Vinay Kumar has joined Pondicherry in 2019-2020 domestic season after announcing his move in Bangalore on Monday.
The 35-year-old led Karantaka to back-to-back Ranji Trophy titles in 2013-14 and 2014-15 in addition to winning the Vijay Hazare Trophy and Irani Cup to make the State a domestic powerhouse.
He will be a guest player alongside K.B. Arun Karthick, who has moved from Kerala, and Paras Dogra.
D. Rohit will continue to lead the team. Pondicherry which made its debut last year had earlier roped former West Indies legend Alvin Kallicharan as its mentor for the upcoming season.
Cricket Association of Pondicherry also announced the team for ACA-Vizzy Trophy tournament that will be held from August 22 at Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram.
