LAST Saturday’s Men’s Scottish Cup Winners, Livingston, and Glasgow (this season’s Scottish Men’s League Winners and The British Handball Play-Off defending champions) head to Oldham to play against the top two teams from England this weekend.

Glasgow defeated Livingston in the British Handball play-off Final last season, with both Scottish teams having beaten English counterparts in the semi-finals this time around.

All of those games were played at The Oriam, Scotland’s Sports Performance Centre, and the English teams will surely be keen on revenge this weekend in Oldham.

Handball has seen a huge surge in interest across Scotland in recent years and many young teams are now enjoying the game. Last Sunday saw the Youth Finals within Scottish Handball and Friday sees the Scottish Schools Handball tournament take place at Ravenscraig Sports Centre.

With the Handball season at it’s conclusion domestically, eyes now turn to these British Play-Offs and European competition.

All four teams playing this weekend – Livingston, Glasgow, London Great Dane and London Olympia – have all qualified again for European competition next season and they will be competing for the right to play in different competitions. The winners this weekend will play in the EHF Cup whilst the remaining teams will play in the EHF Challenge Cup. Both the EHF Cup and the Challenge Cup also conclude this weekend, with teams from across Europe vying for those respective crowns. They are available to watch live and for free at ehftv.com.

Europe’s premier Handball competition, the Champions League, concludes in two weeks’ time and is set to be a thrilling climax to an excellent season.
