VBS slated at Fremont Alliance
FREMONT - Fremont Alliance Church, 936 N.Brush St., will offer a Vacation Bible School from 9:30 a.m. to noon Aug. 5 to 9. The VBS, with the theme "The Incredible Race," is for children ages 5 to those completing fifth grade. Doors open at 9 a.m. There is no cost to attend. St. John-St. Paul to hold peach dessert social
LAKESIDE-MARBLEHEAD - The women of St. John and St. Paul Lutheran Church will have their annual Peach Dessert Social from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Aug. 10. The social will be at St. Paul Lutheran Church in the fellowship hall, 541 S. Church Road. Besides serving sliced peaches with ice cream, there will be hot dogs, chips and beverages.
St. Mark plans ice cream social
FREMONT - St. Mark Lutheran Church, 902 E. State St., is having its annual ice cream social from 5 to 7 p.m. July 23.
Menu is hot dogs, brats, sloppy joes and chicken sandwiches, homemade potato and macaroni salads, baked beans, homemade pies, cookies and brownies. There will be Toft's ice cream. Anyone bringing a nonperishable food will get their ice cream free.
Free showing set for 'The Pilgrim's Progress'
FREMONT - The public is invited to view the movie “The Pilgrim's Progress” with the congregation of Fremont First Presbyterian Church at 7 p.m. July 25.
This is an illustrated rendition of John Bunyon’s 17th century book, an allegory of the Christian’s journey from the City of Despair to the Celestial City.
This story is for all ages. Admission, popcorn and pop are free. First Presbyterian is at 120 S. Park Ave. For more information call John Roush at 419-334-9504.
