THE trial of a man accused of attacking a couple after verbally abusing one of the pair, a pregnant woman, has been re-scheduled.
Bailey Decaprio denies two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm, relating to both the woman and the man, who confronted him over comments to his partner as they left the Market Tavern pub, in the Market Place, Durham, on February 24.
He also denies being in possession of an offensive weapon, a knuckleduster, found on him when he was arrested a short time later in North Road, Durham.
The 22-year-old defendant, of Wakenshaw Road, Gilesgate, Durham, who is remanded in custody, was to have gone on trial this week at the city’s crown court.
Due to lack of court time, the case has been re-listed for Wednesday July 3.
