Sioux Falls PREMIER Rodeo coming to Denny Sanford PREMIER Center Sept. 28-29

SIOUX FALLS – There’s a lot on the line for a pair of South Dakota cowboys on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 28 and 29 when the Sioux Falls PREMIER Rodeo returns to Denny Sanford PREMIER Center for the PRCA’s “Xtreme Roughstock Event.”

The Sioux Falls PREMIER Rodeo is the last event for contestants to qualify for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR) in Las Vegas later this year.

Among the top 21 Bareback Riding leaders in the world who will be in Sioux Falls are Shane O’Connell of Rapid City, who is sitting 13th in the bareback standings and searching for his first trip to Las Vegas, and J.J. Elshere of Hereford, who is entered in the Saddle Bronc Riding and currently holds 18th place. Elshere is a past WNFR Average Champion and four-time WNFR Qualifier.

The top 15 competitors qualify for the WFNR.

Joining O’Connell and Elshere at the Sioux Falls event are Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association World Champions Tim O’Connell, Kaycee Field (four-time), Richmond Champion, Will Lowe (three-time) and Steven Peebles in the Bareback Riding; World Champion Saddle Bronc Rider Jacobs Crawley, four-time WNFR Qualifier Jesse Bail of Camp Crook and Bull Riding super-stars four-time World Champions Sage Kimzey and J.W. Harris.

The PRCA “Xtreme Roughstock Event” features Xtreme Bulls Tour, Xtreme Bronc Match and the brand new Xtreme Bareback Riding event together for the first time in a star-studded single event. The event showcases the PRCA’s top Bull Riders, Saddle Bronc and Bareback Riders against the best rodeo stock in the world for $40,000 and is the last chance for fans to see rodeo stars qualify this season. Money earned goes toward qualification to the 2018 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo and World Championship titles in Las Vegas.

Fans will also enjoy a Freestyle Bullfighting competition. Top rodeo personnel performing include Barrelman Keith Isley, 12x Clown of the Year, Comedy Act and Coors Man in the Can, and Specialty Act Tomas Garcilazo, 3X PRCA Dress Act of the Year and Mexican Charro.
