The Chase contestant gets Buckfast question WRONG in head-to-head with Mark ‘the Beast’ Labbett sending Scottish viewers into meltdown

"Served with gravy, seasonal veg and crushed new potatoes all for only £8.95!

"It's the perfect thing to kick off your weekend!"

And hungry punters were quick to comment on the tonic wine inspired dish.

We told you in April how Scots went crazy for a question about Buckfast on ITV quiz show The Chase – but were left screaming at their telly screens when the contestant guessed it WRONG.

Simon, from Northumberland, couldn’t answer which religious order the monks who created the tonic wine belong to.

Up against chaser Mark Labbett, aka The Beast, the hapless contestant went with Carthusian – while every Bucky connoisseur would have known it was Benedictine.

The Beast “went with his gut” and got the answer right on the show, hosted by Bradley Walsh.

Simon still made it back to his team with a cool £20,000 for the prize pot.
