Man ‘stabbed’ onboard fishing boat at Scrabster Harbour in Caithness as cops make arrest

A man is in hospital after an alleged stabbing onboard a boat in Scrabster Harbour last night.
The 45-year-old man was taken to Caithness General Hospital with 'serious' injuries following the alleged attack shortly after midnight.
It is understood the man suffered knife injuries while on a boat berthed in the Highland harbour.
Another 45-year-old man has since been arrested in connection with the incident and police enquiries are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the cops said: "Police were called shortly after midnight on Tuesday, August 21 following a disturbance aboard a fishing vessel berthed at Scrabster Harbour near Thurso.
"As a result, a 45-year-old man suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries which have required treatment at Caithness General Hospital.
"A 45-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident and police enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
"Initial enquiries suggest this is a contained incident and there was no wider risk to the general public."

Both ambulance and coastguard were in attendance as the man was rushed to hospital.
A spokesperson for the coastguard said: "Scrabster and Melvich Coastguard Rescue Teams were asked by Police Scotland to assist at an incident at Scrabster Harbour around 12.15am today."
