DEVIL DAD

Heartbroken son of Stirling couple found dead in home after suspected carbon monoxide poisoning says he’s GLAD ‘evil’ dad is dead as he claims his stepmum was victim of murder-suicide

Sheena Jackson, 58, was discovered lifeless in the terraced cottage she shared with spouse Alex, 65, who was collapsed upstairs

THE son of a Stirling couple found dead after suspected carbon monoxide poisoning has claimed it was a murder-suicide- as he branded his own dad 'evil'.

Alexander Jackson, 45, accused father Alex of killing his beloved stepmum Sheena at their home then taking their own life.

The shattered bricklayer says he's 'glad his dad is dead' after making the shock allegation just over a week after Alex, 65, and Sheena 58, were discovered in Cambusbarron.

Alexander said: “The police told me my father killed her then himself. I’m glad he’s dead.

"He was an evil man, a bully all his days.

“He was nearing the end of his life but he didn’t have to take her with him. She didn’t deserve it.”

Sheena’s body was discovered after emergency crews rushed to the couple’s home on October 30.

Her hubby was found critically ill but died later in hospital.

As a safety measure, cops evacuated their neighbours — sparking fears a gas leak had claimed the couple’s lives.

But Alexander, from Bo’ness, West Lothian, said: “I got a call to say Sheena was dead and my dad was in hospital. So I went there and he passed away.

"But straight away I knew what had happened.

“They told me in the hospital that carbon monoxide wasn’t involved.

“I couldn’t tell you why he did it — only an animal does that.

“My family is disgusted with him and we are heartbroken for the woman who brought me up from the age of nine.”

Jackson had three kids from his first marriage before he wed mum-of-two Sheena in 1992.

But Alexander said his dad made life hell for his stepmother.

He said: “I had a bad relationship with him. He bullied me physically, so I got away as soon as I was old enough.

“I also tried to get Sheena to leave him a couple of times but she wouldn’t. She was too terrified.

“With her, he was more of a mental abuser. She waited on him hand and foot, she dried him when he came out of the shower, put his clothes on him.

“I don’t want anyone saying they were a lovely couple or he wasn’t responsible for his actions — because he was.

"He killed that poor, defenceless woman.”

Dad-of-three Alexander also paid an emotional tribute to Sheena, saying: “She was a lovely, beautiful woman.

“We are devastated for her and her family — and disgusted with my dad.”

Cops said last night they’re still treating the deaths as “unexplained”.

But it’s understood the murder-suicide theory is part of their ongoing enquiries.
