Man dies after plunging from block of flats in Glasgow as mercy crews race to scene

Officers raced to the scene at Clarkston Road, on the south side of the city, early this morning.

A MAN has died after he plunged from a block of flats in Glasgow.

Officers raced to Holmlea Road at around 8am this morning.

A number of police cars had been reported in the area and mercy crews sped to the flat.

A 53-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police remain in attendance.

A spokeswoman for the force said: "At around 8am on Wednesday November 21, we were called after a 53-year-old man was injured after he fell from a block of flats on Holmlea Road.

"He was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Enquiries are ongoing but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

"A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."

A spokesperson for the ambulance service said: "We received a call at 7.57am today to attend an incident on Holmlea Road in Glasgow.

"We dispatched our trauma team, two ambulances and a manager to the scene."
