Body of missing Ayrshire man found more than two weeks after disappearance from his home

THE body of a missing man has been discovered in Ayrshire, more than two weeks on from his disappearance.
John Walsh was last seen at his Dreghorn home in the early hours of November 14.
And the 47-year-old was reported missing nine days later.
Police combed Irvine and Salcoats in their search for him.
His body was discovered near Bogside Racecourse in Irvine on Sunday.

Cops are not treating his death as suspicious.
A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: "Around 3.40pm on Sunday 2nd December 2018, the body of a man was found near to Bogside Racecourse in Irvine.

"The man has now been identified as John Walsh, 47, and his family has been informed.
"A post mortem examination will take place in due course to establish the exact cause of death, however there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
"A full report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal."
