Edinburgh bound FlyBe flight declares mid-air general emergency from Manchester route

A FLYBE flight has been forced into an emergency landing after an on-board incident.

The flight into Edinburgh from Manchester departed at 8.45pm and was due to land at 9.45pm.

However the emergency has seen landing time cut by 20 minutes.

It is understood the flight continued to its destination at a lower altitude.

The nature of the incident is believed to have been a technical issue with the flight.

An Edinburgh Airport spokesman confirmed the emergency has been stood down.

He said: "We can confirm there had been an in-flight technical issue.

"But the plane landed safely at Edinburgh Airport."

The plane landed safely in Edinburgh earlier than scheduled.
