A MAN has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a train in Glasgow.

Rail bosses took to social media to announce that no trains were running between Anniesland and Drumchapel after the alarm was raised around 1.45pm.

Transport chiefs confirmed that a person had been struck by a train.

And cops said that a man had been seriously injured and was rushed to hospital.

A spokesperson for BTP said: "We were called to Jordanhill station in Glasgow at 1.45pm following a report of a casualty on the tracks.

"Officers and paramedics attended.

"A man suffered serious injuries and has been taken to a nearby hospital for treatment."
ScotRail bosses warned travellers of the disruption on the closed off line would last until around 4pm.

A spokesperson said on Twitter: "Sadly we've learned that someone has been hit by a train in the #Anniesland area.

"Disruption is expected until 4pm.

"We thank you for your understanding while the emergency services deal with this incident."

We told you earlier how services between Glasgow and Edinburgh were disrupted after a vehicle hit a bridge.

The incident happened between Edinburgh Park and Haymarket in the east.

And bosses warned customers about the disruption earlier this morning.
