Pensioner, 69, dies after car crashes into five stationary vehicles in East Dunbartonshire
The woman was travelling in her silver Mercedes on Initiative Road, when the collision took place near Woodilee Road
A PENSIONER has died following a road smash in East Dunbartonshire yesterday.
Emergency services scrambled to Initiative Road in Lenzie are around 5.55pm after getting reports of the collision.
The 69-year-old woman was driving her silver Mercedes SLK when it collided with five stationary vehicles near Woodilee Road.
She was rushed to the Glasgow Royal Infirmary where she was later pronounced dead.
A 35-year-old woman had been sitting in one of the stationary vehicles, and she was treated for minor injuries.
Cops are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to come forward with information.

Sergeant Michael McCusker, Glasgow Road Policing Department, said:“We are appealing for anyone who witnessed this incident, or has dash-cam footage from the Lenzie area last night, to get in touch with us.”
"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Police via 101, quoting incident number 3277 of Saturday 9 March 2019."
