A SCHOOLBOY triggered a cop probe after allegedly selling homemade knives to pupils via Snapchat.

Parents found ads for the jail-style shanks on the messaging app after a child was snared with what’s thought to be a blade attached to a pen.

One said of the shock find at St Kentigern’s Academy in Blackburn, West Lothian: “The boy has been making makeshift knives.

“A pupil was caught with one and it came out this boy was selling them on Snapchat.

“It’s not known if he has been making them himself or buying them from someone.

"It’s very worrying.”

Cops confirmed a pupil had a weapon in school grounds on Monday.

A spokesman added yesterday: “Officers are following a positive line of inquiry.”

West Lothian Council called it an “isolated incident”.
