Mystery man ‘performed sex act’ near Midlothian murder victim Jodi Jones’ body just hours after grisly murder
Dr Sandra Lean, campaigning for the release of Jodi's boyfriend Luke Mitchell, made the claims on a podcast
A MYSTERY man admitted performing a sex act near Jodi Jones’ murder site hours after the teen’s slaughter, a justice campaigner claimed today.
Dr Sandra Lean said the man — who left a used condom 50 yards away — lived in a house overlooking the path where the victim was found.
But she accused cops of botching a probe into the alleged confession in Dalkeith, Midlothian.
She said: “His story was he didn’t have any privacy. So he went, did what he did, discarded the condom and came back.
“He would have had to virtually step over the body on the way down and the way back.”
Scots teen killer Luke Mitchell claims cops cornered him in bathroom and tried to force him to confess to Jodi Jones murder
Dr Lean, who has led a series of failed appeals for killer Luke Mitchell, said the mystery man believed he was out between 8pm and 9pm on June 30, 2003. Jodi, 14, died at around 5pm.
The expert told a podcast cops “messed up” tests and did “nothing” over the 2006 claim as the case had been closed.
