Orange Walk ‘spitting’ incident: Two men arrested and charged over alleged assault

Scottish Protestants Against Discrimination yesterday released a statement condemning the alleged incident.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Two people, a man and a woman both aged 29, were arrested for a sectarian breach on Queens Drive, Glasgow, in the morning of Saturday August 17.

"They will be subject of a report to the procurator fiscal."

Last month, we told of a separate alleged incident in which two men were arrested and charged after a woman was 'spat on' during the Glasgow Orange Walk.

Video footage appeared to show a woman being 'spat on' and 'shoved' as she crossed the road during the march.

Another video showed the moment a Glasgow cop used the word "c**t" in a rant at a man who played Irish music at the Orange Walk.

The man filmed himself blaring out 'rebel tunes' from his car with the windows wound down, as the march went past.

We also told how how eight people were lifted by cops for various public order offences as thousands gathered in the streets of Glasgow for the year’s biggest Orange Walk.
