Glasgow 10-year-old ‘traumatised’ after ‘knife held to her throat’ on her birthday in alleged puppy robbery as teen arrested

A SCHOOLGIRL allegedly had a knife held to her throat on her birthday during a puppy robbery in Glasgow.

Cops were scrambled to the scene in the Castlemilk area after the alarm was raised around 1.30am this morning.

Police say that a 29-year-old man, a woman, 34, and three children aged 17, 10 and two were in a property at the time of the alleged raid.

It's claimed that four men stormed the house, stealing eight bulldog cross puppies, believed to be worth around £1,000 each.

Detectives are carrying out door-to-door enquiries and will continue to review CCTV footage for any additional information on the suspects or the vehicles.

Police confirmed that a teenager, 19, has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged, robbery, vandalism and theft.

He's due to appear in court tomorrow.

Detective Inspector Lynsey Watters said: “A family has been allegedly targeted within their home while sleeping and a young 10-year-old girl is deeply traumatised by what allegedly happened.

"The motive for this alleged attack is unknown we do believe that it was targeted.

"I am appealing to members of the local community to contact us with any information they may have and to listen out for anything they might hear regarding this crime.

"Perhaps you saw the suspects, do you know anything about the cars?

"Any small piece of information could prove significant in our investigation so please do get in touch.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at Cathcart Police Station via 101, quoting incident number 0173 of Wednesday 21 August 2019.

"Alternatively, please call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be given anonymously".
