Man, 32, arrested after ‘cop injured by flare’ at Glasgow Republican march
A MAN has been arrested after a cop was injured by a flare allegedly lobbed from a crowd during a clash between Loyalist protesters and Republican marchers.
The policeman was rushed to hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries, after the alleged incident last Saturday.
More than 1,000 people took part in two organised marches throughout the city with 11 people already arrested for a variety of offences.
Now, a 32-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the alleged incident.
A police spokesperson said: "The 32-year-old man is due at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday, September 16."
