Man charged as cops swoop on Glasgow street as part of planned operation

A MAN was charged after police swooped on a Glasgow street amid a planned operation.

Officers were scrambled to the scene on Castle Street after the alarm was raised around 8.30pm last night.

A number of police cars could be seen on the street.

Now officers have confirmed that a man, 29, has been charged in relation to alleged road traffic offenses.

He's now set to appear in court tomorrow.

A spokesperson for the force said: "As part of an intelligence-led operation, police stopped a car on Castle Street around 8.30pm last night.

"A 29-year-old man was charged in relation to alleged road traffic offenses.

"He is due to appear in Glasgow Sheriff Court tomorrow."
