Nicola Sturgeon gave the green light to pubs opening up outdoor spaces again yesterday afternoon as she outlined changes to the Phase Two lockdown exit plans.

And the First Minister also revealed that Scotland will relax two-metre social distancing rules in some places.

“One-metre zones” are set to be introduced in pubs and restaurants to allow for more customers while still ensuring their safety.

And now, pubs and other venues across the country are showing off their impressive preparations for the highly-anticipated day.

SWG3 will sell food and drink at their new outdoor bar - which was been christened Ronnie’s Bar & Bike Shop.

The newly renovated 25,000sq ft space, which will open at 12 noon on Monday, July 6, located in the venue’s outdoor Galvanizers Yard, will offer customers the chance to eat and drink alfresco and in strict accordance with the latest Government guidelines.

SWG3 bosses say their events team have worked closely with health and safety experts, architects and government officials to create a space that can safely accommodate over 250 customers at any one time.

And to ensure the safety of both customers and staff at the popular venue, a number of practices and features have been introduced ahead of opening.

These include temperature checks upon entry with state-of-the-art thermal scanners, which will be positioned at the single-entry point into the venue.

A Fever Detection System will accurately identify any customers who have a temperature in the range of a fever. Anyone displaying a high temperature will not be permitted to enter the venue.

Tables will be spaced out by a minimum of 2 metres to follow Nicola Sturgeon's guidelines, with each table positioned within its own marked circle, defining boundaries between each social bubble.

There will also be a staggered seating system as all customers must pre-book their slot at the beer garden. Bosses have warned those who turn up without doing so will be turned away.

Also, to avoid communal areas becoming congested, toilet capacity has been limited to half its functional capacity and a brand new automated digital control system has been introduced. Red and green indicators positioned above the entrances will display when customers can enter at no risk of crowding.

And of course, all staff will be wearing appropriate PPE as they work a table service system through an online app.

SWG3 owner, Mutley, said, “We have worked incredibly hard over the last few weeks in preparation for this moment.

"Our absolute priority is to ensure our customers will be able to socialise safely next week when we open, which is why the new space is designed – first and foremost - around hygiene and safety.”

It comes as SWG3 invited Nicola Sturgeon for a cold pint on Monday when beer gardens reopen across Scotland.

The popular music venue said they had a table ready for the First Minister and her “social bubble” if she fancies paying a visit.

And they joked that the SNP leader could have a shot on the decks once she had offered some clarity on background music.

Extending the offer on social media, SWG3 said: “Hi @NicolaSturgeon, you've smashed it the past couple of days, fair play.

“We've got a table for you and your social bubble on Monday if you fancy a cold pint.

“You deserve it! Also, hoping to get a bit of clarity on background music b4 then, get you on the decks for the closing!”
