Ayrshire lad, 9, hospitalised after being bitten in vicious dog attack while the mutt is put down
The youngster was rushed to hospital after he was bitten by the animal, which cops have confirmed has since been destroyed
A NINE-YEAR-OLD boy was hospitalised after a vicious dog attack.
The youngster, from Irvine, Ayrshire, was rushed to hospital on Tuesday after the mutt bit him.
Police confirmed the animal has now been put down, and that a 37-year-old man was reported to the procurator fiscal.
It is understood that despite his injuries, the boy is now recovering at home and has been released from hospital.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “At 18.25 hours on Tuesday 13 November police received a report that a 9-year-old boy had been bitten by a dog in the Girdle Toll area of Irvine.

“The boy was taken to hospital and the dog has been destroyed.
“A 37-year-old man has been reported to the Procurator Fiscal in connection with the incident.”
