Scots dog breeders left pup with agonising wounds after botched ear crop operation
Dawn Hillbeck, 25, and partner Louise, 23, had pooch Russia’s lugs cut off in an illegal surgery
TWO dog breeders left an American bully pup with agonising wounds after a “butcher’s job” illegal ear cropping op.
Dawn Hillbeck, 25, and partner Louise, 23, had pooch Russia’s lugs cut off, before having the four-month-old’s gruesome wounds stitched up with suspected fishing line.
An undercover Scottish SPCA inspector, who snared the pair, slammed the “needless cosmetic mutilation”.
She told Jedburgh Sheriff Court: “The ears were very badly swollen and infected.
“It was clear that the stitches had not been administered by a vet, resulting in the wounds looking inflamed and very painful.”
The brutes ran Becks Bullies in Newcastleton, Roxburghshire.
Dogs similar to those the pair were breeding can fetch up £6k per pup
They admitted allowing and causing last April’s botched op.
