Celtic-daft Martin Compston knew Aberdeen career was ‘f*****’ after defeat to East Kilbride
MARTIN COMPSTON has revealed the exact day he knew his burgeoning career with Aberdeen was over.
The Line of Duty star, 35, might be best known for his acting these days but played football as a youngster.
And he even captained the Dons' youth side for a brief time before signing for Morton as an apprentice.
But Compston now admits that a defeat to an East Kilbride side may have killed his chances of playing for Aberdeen.
Speaking to Si Ferry on Open Goal, he said: "I was captain of the youth team for a while.
"But I remember I was captain at a game and one of the top scouts came down, and we got beat off an East Kilbride select.
"I went, 'that's that f*****!'"
Compston admits it was tough leaving his friends in Greenock to live in Aberdeen as a young teenager.
