Fire at Sheffield home sends smoke into sky on same night as huge waste blaze

Crews were called to Overend Drive in Gleadless Valley on Thursday, May 28, just before 10.15pm, after a patio fire spread to the roofs of two homes.

They donned breathing apparatus to enter the properties and extinguish the fire before leaving at around 1.15am.

Cyclist left with broken back and potentially life-changing injuries after hit-and-run

South Yorkshire Fire & Rescue said the blaze was believed to have started accidentally and no one had been injured.
