DUNKIRK, Ind. – A traffic accident last week in Jay County has claimed the life of a Dunkirk woman.

Cynthia L. Reed, 46, died of her crash-related injuries Sunday at a Fort Wayne hospital, where she had been flown by air ambulance from the scene of the July 3 crash, at Ind. 1 and Jay County Road 300-S.

According to The Commercial Review of Portland, Reed was an occupant of an eastbound Toyota Corolla when it failed to yield at the county road’s intersection with the state highway.

The Toyota was struck by a truck driven by Tonia S. Price, 50, of Maplewood, Ohio.

Another occupant of the Toyota, 37-year-old Aaron M. Darr, 37, of Bunker Hill, was also seriously injured, and was taken to IU Health Jay Hospital before being flown to a Fort Wayne hospital.

Price was not injured.
