Four-day long International Shimla Summer Festival will be inaugurated by Governor Achayra Devvrat on 3 June at the historic Ridge. This was informed by Shimla Deputy Commissioner (DC) Amit Kashyap who is also the Chairman of the Organising Committee of International Shimla Summer Festival.

He informed that during the first three days, the cultural events will start at 4.00 pm and close at 10.00 pm. However, on the last day, the cultural event will end at midnight.

Various schools will present cultural events during the first one, followed by an hour each for state-level folk dance competition which will be organised by the Department of Language, Art and Culture and performances of local artists.

To facilitate the public, Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) will be plying special buses during the festival, said HRTC Regional Manager Dewa Sen Negi, adding that the Shimla DC has issued directions in this regard.

During the four days of the summer festival, regular bus services will be plied on the Shimla Cart Road to the various places in the periphery of the town, he said adding that the bus service will continue till late night as per the end of the programme.

Directions have also been issued to depute one male and female constable, he added.
