Medics had attempted to save the pair but they were confirmed to be dead at the scene this morning.
Hertfordshire police said: "The circumstances around the deaths are currently being investigated and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this."
Cops have cordoned off the white, detached home while they investigate and a post-mortem will be carried out in due course.

A shocked neighbour
Horrified neighbours say the elderly couple had lived at the secluded house for several years as Janette - a former mayor of Berkhamsted - battled dementia.
One said: "It is a very, very sad case. The police are not telling us much, but we know Janette had dementia and was not able to recognise people."
