FOUR cops were injured after being attacked by a "hostile" crowd of more than 100 youths in East London last night.
The group of youths threw bottles and missiles at police outside Stratford Bus Station, near the Westfield shopping centre.
People can be heard screaming in a video of the turmoil near the Westfield shopping centre.
One youth can be seen armed with a long stick as others can be seen hiding in a nearby Pret.
In clips shared online, a police officer can be seen armed with a Taser.
A woman was also injured when she fell down the stairs at the Stratford Tube entrance in the chaos that unfolded just before 8pm on Saturday.
It is unclear what sparked the incident, but police said they had initially been called to the scene on reports of a robbery.
Three people have since been arrested after four police officers suffered minor injuries.
Met Taskforce later tweeted a terrifying photo of a hunting knife, saying one male youth who was caught running from the scene was found armed with the weapon.
It comes after London's streets have descended into violence, with three people killed in just 24 hours.
Cheyon Evans, 18, was stabbed on the Aboyne Estate in Tooting, South West London, on Friday, while Eniola Aluko, 19, was fatally shot in Plumstead about 12 minutes later.
Then, on Saturday afternoon, a man in his 30s was stabbed to death in Tower Hamlets, in East London.
The murders are the 57th, 58th and 59th to rock the capital this year. There were 132 homicides in the city in 2018.
CAPITAL OF VIOLENCE
London Mayor Sadiq Khan said he was "sickened" following the deaths of the two teenage boys.
He said: "Our overstretched police are working around the clock to keep Londoners safe. They need our support to end this scourge of violence.”
Figures last month revealed five young people are attacked with a knife every day in London and Mr Khan warned it could take a "decade" to turn back the tide of violent crime.
However Met Police chief Cressida Dick recently hailed a reduction in stabbings of under-25s after more stop and searches.
After the horror 24 hours, Scotland Yard said locals can expect an enhanced police presence near the crime scenes.
A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police responding to reports of a robbery at Stratford Bus Station at 19:50hrs on Saturday, 15 June, were met with hostility by a large crowd of people.
"Around 100 members of the public threw bottles and missiles at police.
"A woman was injured when she fell down stairs at the tube entrance. Her injuries are not life threatening.
