Jeremy Corbyn grew up supporting Wolves before switching to Arsenal when he moved to London
JEREMY Corbyn was a Wolves fan as a boy but switched to Arsenal when he moved to London.
The Labour leader grew up in Newport, Shrops, and supported the closest top flight team, Wolverhampton Wanderers FC.
It was the most successful era in the West Midlands club’s history as they won the FA Cup and finished second in the league in 1960.
But soon after moving to London in 1971 — when Wolves had been relegated — Mr Corbyn jumped ship to the Gunners, who he regularly goes to watch.
The Islington North MP revealed his former Wolves allegiance to a party colleague.
One backbench Labour MP branded his leader a “glory fan” and mocked him over his flip-flop, pointing out the contrast to his political views — unchanged since he became an MP in 1983.
