England and Scotland could lose all their Euro 2020 group games… but still qualify for tournament
ENGLAND could lose ALL their Euro 2020 group games - but still qualify for the main tournament.
That's because Gareth Southgate's troops are guaranteed a play-off to enter into the competition - as are Scotland.
And why? Because both teams won their respective groups in the Uefa Nations League.
This guarantees an all-or-nothing one game shot at reaching Euro 2020.
And judging by Scotland's woeful performance in their opening group game away at Kazakhstan, they might need it.
Alex McLeish's side were thumped 3-0 on a night to forget in Astana on Thursday night.
And with Belgium and Russia in the same group, the Scots look like they face a battle to progress out of Group I.
England meanwhile, who kicked off their qualifying campaign with a home tie against the Czech Republic, will be favourites to win Group A.
