And they will launch a bid for his old Three Lions rival Hart, 32, should they lose Butland, with Aston Villa among the clubs weighing up a move.

It is understood that Dean Smith's side are ready to launch a £20m bid for the shot-stopper.

Hart lost his place at Burnley mid-season when Tom Heaton returned to full fitness and claimed the No1 jersey at Turf Moor.

Sean Dyche also has Nick Pope, who has signed a new contract, and could let Hart leave for a portion of the £3.5million paid to Manchester City a year ago.

Hart went to Torino in Italy to restart his career before a spell at West Ham - and getting back to regular Premier League football through Championship promotion could appeal to him.

Butland and Hart were competing for England No1 before Jordan Pickford climbed ahead of them in Gareth Southgate’s pecking order.

SunSport exclusively revealed that Blackburn are also in the queue to secure Hart's signature this summer.

Rovers boss Tony Mowbray wants a new No1 and the 32-year-old has emerged as a top target.
