Matt Clarke to undergo Brighton medical on Friday ahead of £5m transfer from Portsmouth
BRIGHTON are set to complete a move for Portsmouth's Matt Clarke.
The defender, 22, is likely to undergo a medical tomorrow.
Albion will pay a fee of £3.4million - which could rise to £5m with add-ons.
Clarke, who left Ipswich for the Pompey in 2016, will sign a four-year deal at the Amex.
Brighton were believed to be his favoured destination, with new Seagulls coach Graham Potter determined to make the centre-back his first summer signing.
The defender leaves Fratton Park as the Player of the Year, scooping the award for the second consecutive season.
He also made the PFA League One Team of the Season and the Sky Bet Team of the Season.
Clarke has played in 175 games for Portsmouth during his four-year spell at the club, scoring nine goals.
Meanwhile, Brighton have already identified other transfer targets following their hard-fought Premier League survival.
