LEICESTER midfielder Adrien Silva will complete a medical at Monaco today ahead of a season-long loan, according to reports.

The midfielder is braced to join Islam Slimani who also made the move to the French side yesterday.

Boss Brendan Rodgers has been eager to let the midfielder leave this summer following the arrivals of Youri Tielemans and Dennis Praet.

Silva, 30, cost Leicester £22million two years ago but has struggled to make an impact in England and eventually spent the second half of last year on loan at Monaco.

Despite a change of manager at the French side, they have been keen to bring him back and it is likely to end Silva's time at the King Power for good.

The Telegraph's John Percy revealed on Twitter: "#LCFC midfielder Adrien Silva has flown to Monaco tonight for a medical on Friday.

"Will sign on loan for the season. Silva's move was part of the talks in the Islam Slimani deal."

Silva has earned 26 caps for Portugal including featuring in their last two major tournaments.

The Foxes also appear to have cut their losses with Slimani with the club paying £30m to sign him in 2016.

The striker was far from prolific, scoring just once in the league last season, but was part of the Algeria side that won the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt over the summer.
