FIRST Dates fans were in tears this evening as 57-year-old Lincoln opened up about turning to drugs and alcohol after his son and father died in the same week.
Lincoln admitted to losing 16 years of his life to his grief, revealing that he only turned his life around two years ago.
Lincoln's date Chi-Chi asked him if he had any children, and he replied: "One would be 37 this year, my other boy is 16 and doing really well.
"My first one passed away."
Speaking to the camera, Lincoln then shared more detail about the boy's death, explaining that he got hit by a car after school in a shock accident.
He explained: "10-15 minutes can change your whole life.
"He was coming home from school, he was running out and got hit by a car.
"The next minute I am standing there looking over his body. You're left with just a hole."
But that wasn't the end of Lincoln's heartache, as he went on to share that just days later he also lost his father.
He said: "My son died on the Monday, then my dad passed away on the Friday night/ Saturday morning.
"I started taking drugs and drinking and not coping with every day life.
"It got to the point where I just didn't think about what I was doing.
"16 years I wasn't there, even though I got up every morning and went to work."
He continued: "It all changed maybe two, three years ago... I just got to a point where I felt I wanted something better.
"I was slowly putting myself back together, it took me 16 years but I am ready to rise again."
Viewers were left heartbroken by Lincoln's story, with some admitting that they were in tears over his grief.
Others congratulated him for getting his life back on track.
One fan wrote: "#FirstDates making me cry so much."
Another added: "Well done Lincoln for getting yourself together. Onwards and upwards from here."
A third said: "Ah no Lincoln!! That’s so horribly sad."
Lincoln's date Chi-Chi happened to be on a date in the famous London restaurant at the same time as her son.
Kurtis melted hearts as he kept an eye on his mum during his date with Jaleesa, even following her into the ladies toilets for an impromtu catch-up.
He then opened up about caring for his younger brother when he was a child and his mother was in hospital.
Love appeared to be in the air in the First Dates restaurant, with both Kurtis and Chi-Chi securing a second date with there respective suitors - and they ended up going on a double date as a foursome.
