Real Housewives of Cheshire’s Dawn Ward reveals heartbreaking reality of being full time carer for Ashley Ward’s mum who has Alzheimer’s ahead of new series
REAL Housewives of Cheshire's Dawn Ward has become a full time carer for Ashley Ward's mum, who has developed Alzheimer’s.
Ahead of the new series of the ITVbe show, Dawn spoke to The Sun Online and told how she has taken in her husband's poorly parents at their sprawling Cheshire home.
Viewers will not only get a peek into the 45-year-old’s lavish lifestyle but they'll see how she takes charge, looking after family and friends - including new Warford Hall resident Ester Dee - in series nine.
Dawn revealed they decided to live together as one big family and exclusively told The Sun Online: "Ashley's mum Maureen has got Alzheimer's and his father was diagnosed with a brain tumour.
"It's very difficult for his parents because they've lived in the same house for forty odd years. But now it was causing me problems, because I'm Ashley's mum's carer.
"It was knocking her out of her routine where she was becoming more difficult to care for."
Staggering figures show more than 520,000 people in the UK suffer from Alzheimer's disease.
And Dawn feels privileged to be able to care for her mum-in-law in her £15million home.
The mum-of-four added: "I'm privileged to live in a big house, and if you can help and you can do that then it's a nice place to be.
"Now they very rarely leave, but it's lovely because at the end of the day I've got the kids, I've got his parents and I've got (RHOC co-star) Ester but you know, what I live in a big house."
Dawn showed her caring side when she welcomed RHOC co-star Ester Dee and daughter Pearl into her home after a difficult split from her husband and boyfriend.
"Warford Hall is busting at the seems for the first time! I mean I love it really.
"Ester's got her own privacy she's got her own flat, we're not on top of each other." she told us.

Dawn went on: "At the end of the day, we are very fortunate. We have a strong bond as a family. Especially with Maureen's Alzheimer's, it's a big issue for a lot of people.
"It's a very very nasty disease. As a family that's how we deal with it, we pull together."
Tanya Bardsley, Seema Malhotra, Rachel Lugo, Perla Navia, Hanna Miraftab with glamorous guest housewife Christine McGuinness are also returning.
The Real Housewives of Cheshire returns on Monday 25th March at 10pm on ITVBe.
