EUROVISION fans couldn't believe how much a singer from Czech Republic looked like Joey Essex in Tuesday's semi-final.
Viewers raced to Twitter to insist the Towie legend was moonlighting as a Eurovision contestant after Lake Malawi performed energetic pop track Friend of a Friend.
The "cute" lead singer of the band even rapped in a cockney accent, making him seem more like the reality star.
Tweets poured in and one person raved: "Czech Republic I thought it was Joey Essex singing ha"
Another said: "Wow I didn't know Joey Essex could sing?" as another fan asked the question: "@bbceurovision anyone seeing Joey Essex singing for #CZE"
And one more remarked: "What’s joey Essex doing on #Eurovision @bbceurovision"
Their song Friend of a Friend currently stands as one of the favourites at this year's live music competition - and the frontman's looks could go in his favour with British fans.
Meanwhile, his other band members were compared to James Blunt and Sean Mendes.
Lake Malawi and Czech Republic, made it through to Saturday's final.
