From Love Island’s ‘fakery’ to Curtis dumping Amy, Iain Stirling’s best witty one-liners from this year’s series
SCOTTISH comedian Iain Stirling has been the voice of the show since day one, and he has kept viewers entertained again this summer.
Here are his best bits – from gags about football to Sir Philip Green . . .
On Chris Taylor attempting to chat up India Reynolds: “I’m not saying that went badly but I’ve just sent that clip into You’ve Been Framed and earned £250.”
On Danny Williams’ luck with female contestants: “Back in the villa, Jourdan’s chatting to Danny or, as I like to call him, the travel agent because when people hang around him, they always wind up heading to the airport.”
On Anton Danyluk completely missing the ball while trying to score a goal blindfolded: “A Scotsman who can’t finish? Rangers have already offered him a two- year contract.”
On Curtis Pritchard’s controversial pep talk with Jordan Hames in which he told him to express feelings for India behind girlfriend Anna Vakili’s back: “Curtis has some more advice for Jordan. Invest heavily in BHS.”
On Lucie Donlan’s predicament over whether to choose boxer Tommy Fury or sandwich guru Joe Garratt: “Lucie has a big decision to make. Private jets, ringside seats to Madison Square Gardens, a life of luxury . . . or heavily discounted ciabatta.”
On shy George Rains’ only comment in the villa: “Lucie’s been on an incredible journey. She fell for Joe, lost him and discovered hidden strengths, before realising she had deep feelings for Tommy . . . George’s favourite snack is nuts.”
On Marvin Brooks’ lack of any real storylines in the villa: “Marvin’s been dumped and I’m off to watch his highlights reel . . . OK I’m back.”
On rumoured show fakery: “There’s nothing fake about this show, nothing. Now would someone move that plastic fern next to the AstroTurf, it’s blocking the shot.”
MOST READ IN LOVE ISLAND
On Love Island hunk Ovie Soko, whose name sparked a variety of puns: “Someone is Ovie the moon”, “Ovie time might be my favourite time of the day”, “A certain basketball player never Ovie-stays his welcome.”
On Islanders seemingly always opening up to Curtis about their problems: “I strongly advise you seek help from a professional . . . ballroom dancer.”
On Curtis considering dumping Amy Hart: “What’s that Curtis? A dancer thinking about changing their partner in the middle of the show. Very unprofessional, darling.”
