THE directors of the board of Blyde Wildlife Estate have confirmed that the giraffe cow that was involved in the tragic incident in which Katy and Finn Williams were severely injured, was successfully moved to a new destination earlier this week.

Katy and Finn were discovered after the attack by their Bradford-born husband and father Dr Sam Williams outside their home on the estate in South Africa on September 3.

The estate said it was with the utmost sadness that had to report the news that the two-month-old calf had unfortunately not survived. It said all necessary precautions were taken and all legal requirements were adhered to.

Riaan Cilliers, the estate manager, confirmed: “We are all devastated by this very sad news.”

A fundraiser has been started by friends of the family on behalf of Katy and Finn to assist with their recovery, and anyone that would like to donate can do so at https://www.gofund me.com/katy-and-finns-re covery.
