POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was killed in a fatal road crash while travelling towards Queensbury.
The man, in his 30s, was driving a Vauxhall Vectra when his car was in a collision with a Mercedes-Benz Actros lorry, at around 1am.
The lorry had been travelling along Queensbury Road in Boothtown, Halifax, from Queensbury, when it crashed with the silver Vauxhall which was travelling towards Queensbury.
Officers were called to reports of a crash at 1.03am.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information about either vehicle involved is asked to call police on 101, quoting log number 68 of Friday, December 14, or use the live chat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website.
Information can also be reported anonymously to independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
Due to the incident, road closures are in place along the A647 Queensbury Road, which is causing considerable disruption in the Queensbury and north Halifax area this morning.
