A FOOD challenge with a difference took place at a Bradford care home last Friday, but it was less tasty and more sticky than you might imagine.
The challenge was for staff, residents and families to take it in turns sitting in a bath of baked beans for 24 hours to help raise funds for the Bierley Court Care Home's garden to be revamped.
It took place last Friday and it was certainly a long session for the hardy volunteers. The event started at 8am and finishing the following morning at 8am.
Everyone got an hour to sit in the beans, apart from residents, who spent 10 minutes each in there.
It was a great day/night with lots of support, with even the manager and someone from head office getting involved.
In total, the home raised £500.
