THERE are reports of more fires at a Bradford wildlife haven which concerned residents say is falling victim to vandals.

A Telegraph & Argus reader, who asked not to be named, got in touch to say firefighters had arrived at Pity Beck, off Thornton Road in Allerton, to tackle yet another blaze.

He said there is "lots of smoke".

"It's blowing across Bell Dean Road. It's time the police really started to do something about it."

He said there had also been a fire there last night.

The T&A highlighted the problem earlier this week, when concerned dog walkers hit out at vandals they claim are ruining the spot.

Nadine Seery, 65, said: "They are just ruining it all for everybody. They've obviously got no compassion or respect for nature or the surrounding area.

"I'm disgusted and angry.

"Where the fires have been set, it's just a horrible black mess.

"It's dreadful."
