The West Yorkshire summer is still awaiting some prolonged sunshine, as the Met Office today issued a warning of persistent rainfall to occur over the coming days.

A yellow warning has been issued for Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday across Bradford and West Yorkshire, indicating a period of “heavy and prolonged rainfall”, which could potentially even lead to “local flooding and disruption to transport”.

The Met Office website has told people to expect difficult driving conditions, as well as a “slight chance” of delays and cancellations to train and bus services. Flooding has also been listed as a concern, although the website states that there is only a “small chance” of this occurring.

Rain is, however, expected to last throughout most of the three days on which the yellow warnings were issued. For advice on how to reduce the risk of flooding and protect your property during periods of heavy rainfall, please visit www.metoffice.gov.uk.
