A CAR driver has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after his vehicle was in collision with a bus in Bradford city centre.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said the motorist's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
A Bradford fire crew attended the scene this afternoon and freed the man who had injuries to his legs.
Manningham Lane whas re-opened after the road traffic collision was cleared.
The collision occurred between a black Mitsubishi Colt hatchback and a Keighley Bus Company 662 Shuttle bus near the junction with Hamm Strasse.
Fire crews cut off the roof of the car and the driver was taken to hospital by ambulance.
In a statement, West Yorkshire Police said: "We were called to the junction on Hamm Strasse/Manningham Lane at 3:45pm to reports of a collision between a car and a bus.
"An ambulance is also on the scene."
An eyewitness suggested that the road was shut to stop traffic trying to get past while the emergency services deal with the incident.
First West Yorkshire said 622/626/680 bus services were diverted via Lumb Lane/White Abbey Road until the road was clear. Some services were stuck and delayed and travellers were told to expect disruption and possible cancellations to journeys.

Keighley Bus Company said that due to traffic congestion it amended the diversion of its services with the Shuttle diverted in both directions via Lumb Lane and Marlborough Road and then resuming the normal line of the route.
