THREE further Covid-19 related deaths have been recorded by hospitals in the Bradford district.

Figures from NHS England show Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has reported two new deaths - one took place on Sunday, May 17 and the other patient died on Saturday, May 16.

Airedale reported one death which took place yesterday (May 18).

Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust did not report any further deaths. 

This means the hospital death toll in the Bradford district now stands at 284 - 185 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals, 97 at Airedale and two at the Bradford District Care trust.

32 people living in the North East and Yorkshire have sadly died as a result of covid-19 in the past 24 hours.

A further 174 people, who tested positive for the coronavirus have died, bringing the total number of confirmed reported deaths in hospitals in England to 24,913.

Patients were aged between seven and 102 years old. 

Six of the 174 patients - aged between 45 and 90 - had no known underlying health condition.  

Their families have been informed.
