WEST Bowling kept their slim title hopes alive with an assured win at top of the league Westwood Park.

The sixth-placed side put four past the Bradford Sunday Alliance League Premier Division leaders, with only one goal coming in reply.

Bowling came out of the blocks from the start and soon put Westwood on the back foot.

Man of the match Kenny Tafireyi was on fire down the wing and after fourteen minutes was brought down in the opposition's box after cutting inside.

Bowling's leading scorer Joe Jagger stepped up and smashed the penalty kick home.

The forward continued to cause Westwood problems and, after some terrific play from Tawheed Ahmed down the wing, Jagger's

shot was somehow blocked on the line.

Jagger again proved a nuisance at the resulting corner, when his shot was headed home by John May meaning Bowling went into the break 2-0 up.

Westwood though are not league leaders for nothing and in the second half they stepped up their game.

Andy Benjamin crossed the ball into Bowling's box for Dan Cunningham to fire home.

With Westwood pressing for an equaliser Bowling's manager, Nathan Dresler, made some tactical changes to bring his side back on top.

After eighty two minutes Bowling increased their lead to 3-1 with a superb strike from midfielder Dillon Hollinger which sailed over the home keepers head.

They rounded off the scoring when Jackson Smith found his brother Joe Jagger at the far post who rifled home his second.

The victory means Bowling are 11 points of the leaders with a game in hand, but it was a result more beneficial to second-placed Crossflatts Village who are five points off top with two games in hand.

Elsewhere in the division, Olympic dropped to fourth after a 4-1 loss at home to Oakenshaw who leapfrog the hosts and Station Hotel - who drew 2-2 at home to Bolton Woods - from fifth into third.

Wrose Bull gave their Championship title hopes a boost with a 3-2 victory at AFC Wibsey, leaving them nine points off top with two games in hand.

Tyersal Sunday and Heaton Athletic drew 2-2.

In Division One, the stand-out tie saw strugglers Park Pub beat league leaders Peacock Bar 3-1 at home.

It's the Peacock's first league loss in seven games.

In the bottom division, there were goals galore when high-fliers George Hotel visited second-bottom side Hunsworth Sundays.

Much was in favour of the away-side though, as Hunsworth shipped 15 goals, only managing to reply with one consolation of their own.
