JAMES Green will discover later on how long he will be out of the Bulls’ plans.

The prop is already banned for the next two games for a pressure tackle on Swinton’s Rhodri Lloyd.

And tonight’s RFL disciplinary committee will discuss what further punishment is in store for the former Castleford man following last week’s red card at Sheffield.

John Kear was not impressed with Green or Jordan Lilley, who was sin-binned late on in the first defeat of the year, and has had strong words with both.

The Bulls had to play half an hour against the Eagles down to 12 men – and the final stages with just 11 after Lilley went off.

Kear said: “It hasn’t helped the cause and James realises he has let himself down but more importantly for us, he’s let his team-mates down as well.

“Although Sheffield were marching us back, we really shored our defences up once they got into our 20.

“I was pretty confident that with a full complement we’d at least get one more score. If we’d got that, I was confident we would have seen the game out.

“But obviously it nullified our attacking ability along with the lack of possession. More importantly, it drained us of energy defensively because 12 were doing 13 men’s work.

“It was also a man in the middle of the paddock so it makes it really difficult.

“Ben Blackmore was off (for Sheffield) for 10 minutes as well and we conceded nothing when we were both down to 12.

“It was only 10 minutes after that when they were back to the full team that they scored.

“I’ve had a word with Jordan Lilley as well about his ill-discipline. We went down to 11 and then conceded another.

“So, two of their four tries came when we were down to 12 against 13 and one when it was 11 v 13.

“That might well be the reason (for the result) but it shouldn’t be occurring.”

The Bulls were frustrated with some decisions from referee Marcus Griffiths but Kear has reminded the players they cannot allow tempers to boil over.

He said: “People comment about the referee and we might feel that he could have performed better. A 15-8 penalty count is pretty severe.

“But I felt there was reasoning behind 11 of those penalties. I might stand my corner for three or four of them but the rest were non-negotiable.

“We just need to be a little better with our discipline.”

Bulls youngsters Jacob Beety, Jake Judson, Lewis Camden and Taylor Mail are among the 68 players selected by head coach Danny Wilson for the England Youth national performance squad.
