Michel Platini was questioned over France’s successful bid for the 2016 European Championships and the Qatar 2022 World Cup vote after he was arrested by anti-corruption police in Paris yesterday.
French police have been looking into the role of the former France president Nicolas Sarkozy in the Qatar vote since launching a probe three years ago, but it is the first time that Euro 2016 has emerged as another avenue of investigation.
