Scotland’s first purpose-built International Baccalaureate school will open in August, offering places to students from across the world.

Fairview Beaconhurst, operated by the Malaysian company Fairview International Schools, will open in Bridge of Allan, Stirlingshire on the site of the former private Beaconhurst School, which closed last year.

The school, which will offer the International Baccalaureate alongside the Scottish Curriculum for Excellence, will initially be open for P1 to S2 pupils, with the secondary school expected to open fully in 2020. It expects more than 200 students to enrol this August. Fees will range from £12,000 a year for the youngest students, aged 4-5, to £20,000 for grade nine students, aged 13-14, making the school one of the most expensive anywhere in Scotland. An open
