Depending on where you’re searching, £25 million to spend on a property means different things. In London’s Mayfair it can secure a six-bedroom terraced house with a mews cottage, while in Malibu, California, the same sum will buy an architect-designed home with panoramic sea views and seven bathrooms.
In Scotland, this budget will stretch a little farther. This week Savills announced it was handling the sale of a 21,000-acre estate in Morayshire, at the edge of the Cairngorms National Park, with a grand 13-bedroom lodge at its heart. The asking price of offers of more than £25 million is a record on Scottish soil.
