Residents of Kensington and Chelsea, home to some of the country’s wealthiest neighbourhoods, may want to invest in ear plugs after it emerged they are the most likely to complain about noisy neighbours.

The borough has received almost 35,000 noise complaints from residents in the past three years, more than ten times the national average of 3,200. Locals in the area, which has an average house price of £1.5 million and has been home to Madonna, Sir Richard Branson and Eric Clapton, registered their annoyance about loud parties, late-night music, barking dogs and noisy building work.
